Amendment to the Protected Trees Ordinance - Citywide Notice of a Council Meeting

The Cupertino City Council directed staff to prepare amendments to Chapter 14.18, Protected Trees, of the Cupertino Municipal Code.

Potential amendments include:

• Streamline process for removal of Protected Trees
• Review and update: 
        o List of specimen trees 
        o Tree replacement mitigations/thresholds

In accordance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the City is currently conducting an environmental assessment for the proposed amendments. The Initial Study and Negative Declaration are anticipated to be available for public review on October 17, 2014.
