Customers in west San Jose, Cupertino, Campbell, and Los Gatos may notice an earthy odor in their drinking water. The odor is related to a recent algae bloom in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta where this water originates and does not pose a health concern. The water continues to be safe and meets all drinking water standards.

The Santa Clara Valley Water District provides drinking water to SJWC and other utilities who then deliver it to homes and businesses throughout Santa Clara County. The District is taking action to eliminate this odor from the water supply. For more information please visit:
