The Youth Activity Board (YAB) is a group of highly dedicated middle and high school students who plan and lead events for youth and teens in Cupertino. YAB members are independently driven, forward thinkers, and active communicators and listeners. To achieve their vision, the YAB collaborates with Parks and Recreation staff to create, develop, and implement youth and teen programs, and encourage youth and teen involvement in these activities. The goal of the YAB is to create engaging and fun activities which local youth can participate in every other month. These can range from large scale events to small activities.

The YAB meets on a bi-weekly schedule with meetings held every other Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m.  For more information, please contact the Board Advisor Robert Kaufman via email at RobertK@cupertino.gov.

Sit in on one of our Teen Commission meetings to see what projects Cupertino's youth representatives are working on.

  • Date: 06/09/2021 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Location: Quinlan Community Center
    10185 N. Stelling Road
    Cupertino, California 95014
  • Introduction: The Teen Commission consists of 9 Cupertino youth who are specially selected by City Council to advise them on youth issues (and Cupertino’s future).

Our Cupertino Teen Commission is at the center of Cupertino’s future as they counsel City staff and council alike on what Cupertino citizens will want to see years down the road.

The Commission consists of nine members with the intention to include at least one person from each public middle school and public high school in Cupertino, if possible. Membership on the Commission is limited to Cupertino residents. Members may attend schools outside of the City limits, or be schooled at home. Commissioners must be in 8th through 12th grade. Teen Commissioners serve two-year staggered terms.
